The American Hockey League and the Colorado Eagles have released their 2025–26 regular season schedule. The regular season Pacific Division Champions will play 72 games, splitting it with 36 on the road and 36 at home.
Who Is New?
The Eagles will play 11 teams. They will play every team within the Pacific Division and two teams from the Central Division. The teams from the Central Division will be the Rockford IceHogs (CHI) and the Chicago Wolves (CAR). The Last time they faced the IceHogs was during the 2022–23 season in which Colorado had a 2–0–2–0 record. It has been a while since the Eagles have played the Chicago Wolves. They have not seen each other since the 2018–19 season where the Eagles went 1–2–1–0. That series will feature a home-at-home series at the beginning of February.
The Eagles will open the year at Blue Arena in Loveland against their division rival the Calgary Wranglers (CGY). They will not see the dreaded Abbotsford Canucks (VAN) for the first time until November.
How Does It Breakdown
As usual, the Eagles will play a very weekend heavy schedule at home. Most of their games will be coming on Fridays (11) and Saturdays (14). They will only have three Sunday games this year. Their longest home stand will come in January for a six-game stretch against the San Diego Gulls (ANA), Ontario Reign (LAK), and Henderson Silver Knights (VGK). The Eagles will soar for an eight-game stretch on the road towards the end of the season, the longest of the year.
Why?
The problem with scheduling in the AHL is travel cost. Every team usually flies commercial and does not want to go on long road trips. Every team makes their own schedule and usually wants a home game for every road game played. This is usually the reason that the Eagles never play teams in the Atlantic and North Divisions. So the hopes of seeing the Eagles play the Hershey Bears (WSH) or the Laval Rocket (MTL) are slim to none. But the season is only about three months away and closing in fast!
