The Colorado Avalanche will try to bring their momentum home and wrap up the season series against the Winnipeg Jets. After beating the Jets 3–2 on Thursday, the Avs play them again for the third time in only 14 days. Colorado is on pace to clinch the Central Division, while the Jets have nearly been eliminated from contention this year. Fans can expect a chippy game from both sides as the Avs are getting into playoff mode and the Jets are looking for redemption after the loss.
Colorado Avalanche (48–13–10, 106 pts)
The Avalanche walked into Winnipeg with a nearly healthy roster on Thursday, and it showed. Colorado’s passes moved quickly within the zone, though they found difficulty exiting their zone. But they settled down, and things fell into place with four players coming back to the lineup. Jack Drury added his ninth of the season, a new career high on top of Nathan MacKinnon’s pair of tallies. MacKinnon is only three goals shy of his own career high set in 2023–24. Colorado showed more of what fans expected than the game 12 days ago and gained a nine-point lead over the Dallas Stars in the Central Division.

Winnipeg Jets (30–30–12, 72 pts)
Winnipeg attempted to play its usual game against the Avalanche, yet it proved insufficient against their distinct style. Towards the end of the contest, the Jets got more physical. Morgan Barron tried to challenge Josh Manson; however, this attempt failed miserably. The Jets face slim chances for a Western Conference wild card after the Avs’ defeat.
This is what Manson’s third KO since he has been on the Avs?? May want to stop fighting him pic.twitter.com/NbfkCv5tTY
