The Colorado Avalanche faces different circumstances arriving in Winnipeg for Thursday’s contest against the Jets. The Avs are not in the middle of a losing streak this time around and have a better lineup. Colorado could extend its win streak to four games and could take a nine-point lead in the standings if the cards fall in their favor. The Avs’ recent history shows difficulty winning in Winnipeg over two seasons. They have scored only two goals since December 2023 with a Vezina Trophy goaltender guarding their crease.

Seeking retribution for last week’s overwhelming loss, Colorado arrived in Pittsburgh with a clear objective. It was to win, and win big. The return of Gabriel Landeskog, Ross Colton and, most importantly, Logan O’Connor all helped in the 6–2 victory. Unfortunately, Nic Roy could not play because of an upper-body injury. Their trio’s return boosted the entire lineup. O’Connor tallied an assist on Parker Kelly’s goal, and Colton threw the puck into the empty net for a goal. Martin Necas even continued to stay red-hot with two goals himself. Artturi Lehkonen will also be making his return to the lineup on Thursday after missing 11 games with an upper-body injury.
