The Colorado Avalanche will wrap up the regular season on Thursday night at Ball Arena against the Seattle Kraken. With a couple of milestones reached by Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas, expect the stars to sit this one out. The Avs have recalled Alex Barre-Boulet and Jason Polin from the Colorado Eagles on Thursday morning to take their place. Colorado may have an easy one tonight, but will be cautious to get out of it with no injuries with their first playoff game on Sunday.
Alex Barre-Boulet and Jason Polin have been recalled from the Colorado Eagles to the Avs. Barre-Boulet has 26g/44a in 69 games while Polin has 10g/11a in 45 games. #Avs #GoAvsGo #EaglesCountry pic.twitter.com/mtnbqMS7Eo

Colorado Avalanche (54–16–11, 119 pts)
The Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night 3–1, taking their 29th road victory of the year. The win tied the franchise high for road victories, set in 2022–23. It also gave the Avalanche 119 points for the season, tying the franchise high set in 2021–22. A couple of player milestones happened during the games as well. Nathan MacKinnon tapped in his 53rd goal of the season, assuring that he will win his first Rocket Richard Trophy of his career. On the same play, Martin Necas assisted the goal to reach 100 points for the first time in his career. Thursday’s lineup will probably change because of player call-ups plus Jack Ahcan’s reassignment.
THAT IS 💯FOR MARTY NECAS! He gets the assist on MacKinnon's empty-net goal to reach 100 points for the first time in his career! #Avs #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/OIh903j7zJ

Seattle Kraken (34–35–11, 79 pts)
It has been a rough year for the Kraken; they have not been in the running for the playoffs at all. They played the red-hot Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, losing 4–1. Shane Wright was the only one to put the puck in the net for the Kraken, then it was all Vegas from there. With just 79 points this season and their AHL affiliate slipping in the standings, people have to ask: Does the organization need fixing?
