Just days after falling to the Nashville Predators, the Colorado Avalanche have a quick turnaround and face them once again in this rematch. In their road game on Tuesday night, the Avs fell in the shootout for the fourth time.
It took a Cale Makar power play goal – his first since last season – to even force overtime. Nonetheless, Colorado will look to get back in the win column against a division rival.
Colorado Avalanche (22-2-7, 51 points)
The Avs became the first team this season to surpass 50 points. It came thanks to a big 6β2 win on Thursday on home ice against the reigning back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers.
A great game welcomed the members of the 1996 championship team in attendance after their pre-game ceremony. 13 different players recorded a point, with five players recording two points.
While Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas did their part, depth scoring from the likes of Josh Manson, Sam Malinski, and Gavin Brindley chipped in brilliantly. The team must provide a similar effort this Saturday night to keep up the quick pace of games.

Nashville Predators (12-14-4, 28 points)
The Predators are coming off a big win in their own Central Division matchup on Thursday. A 7β2 thrashing of the St. Louis Blues saw Steven Stamkos score four goals.
Luke Evangelista also tallied three assists. Stamkos and Evangelista were two of six players to record multiple points, with 11 players getting on the scoresheet.
After a slow start, Nashville has figured it out. Theyβve won four of their last five games, one of them being the aforementioned Avalanche game. In the first game of a two-game road trip, theyβll look to take another victory away from Colorado.
