The Colorado Avalanche came home to take on the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night and wrap-up the season series. The Avs dominated the last game on Thursday with the return of Artturi Lehkonen. On Saturday, the game was a little different, as the Jets were more prepared for the Avalanche and the reloaded lineup. Mistakes would cost the Avs on Saturday, with Winnipeg coming out on top and the 4–2 victory.

The Avalanche continued their dominance on the power play by scoring on their first chance. In the previous 11 games, Colorado had gone 11-for-36 to convert at 30.5 percent. With the goal, Cale Makar added an assist for his 500th career point, making him the fourth-fastest defenseman to reach the mark.

Parker Kelly keeps playing at a career pace. In the second period, Kelly tipped a Josh Manson shot behind his back to grab his 17th of the season.

Colorado had a hard time getting the offense going after the power-play goal. Their inability to clear the puck from their zone resulted in Gabriel Vilardi scoring in the first period. Brent Burns had a horrible turnover in the second period that led to Cole Koepke’s goal in the second. Improving puck protection when leaving their zone and moving through neutral is something the Avalanche need to work on.

Winnipeg’s third goal was another turnover in their own zone with a shot from the blue line by Cole Perfetti. Besides the goal, Gabriel Landeskog was in the middle of a net-front battle with Jonathan Toews as he fell on Mackenzie Blackwood. The Avalanche challenged the goal for goaltender interference, but the goal remained.
