The Colorado Avalanche have seemingly made a Tuesday evening signing of Victor Olofsson. While terms are not fully confirmed, the rumors are a one-year contract with a cap hit of $800K, per JFresh.

Olofsson is a 30-year-old Swedish winger who most recently played with the Vegas Golden Knights. In his first six years of his career, he played for the Buffalo Sabres.

Last season with the Golden Knights was one of his best with a solid contending team. In 56 games, he scored 15 goals and added 14 assists for 29 points.

In nine playoff games, he added two goals and assists. Three of his four points came on the man advantage in his first playoff appearance.

Throughout the season, he was a force on the power play. He scored six goals and made up eight points total on the man advantage. This was all done while averaging 14:30 a night.

In his career, his overall stats are solid. In 370 career games, he’s got 105 goals and 106 total assists while averaging 15:18 a night.

For the Avalanche, this rumored signing could be big with the addition of more forward depth. They signed Joel Kiviranta, but will be without Logan O’Connor to start the year.

Olofsson has always been a reliable middle forward. Even his time in Buffalo was solid, as he scored 40 points or more in three of his six seasons.

Furthermore, for a contending team looking for cheaper pieces to fill in the gaps, Olofsson fits the bill. He will likely play a part on the third line alongside the likes of Ross Colton, Jack Drury, and Parker Kelly.

Victor Olofsson adds on a nice chunk of points for the Avalanche in the bottom six. Plus, he should fit in nicely with fellow Swede and captain of the club, Gabriel Landeskog.

The latest updates report that the contract is worth $1.575 as of 10:20 a.m. MT first reported by PuckPedia.
