The Winnipeg Jets continue to haunt the Colorado Avalanche as they beat the Avs again in Winnipeg. It took until the last minute of the game to determine a winner, but the Avs lost 3–2. It was looking good coming into the game, with a 6–1 victory over the St. Louis Blues. The Jets have now beaten the Avs in five of the last six games in Winnipeg, proving to be a thorn in Colorado’s side. There were a lot of things that the Avs did right. But there were also a few things that they still needed to improve upon.

The power play failed to score but appeared impressive in its only opportunity of the night. The team managed six shots on net within two minutes while mostly keeping the puck in the zone. When they had to exit the offensive zone, their entries were almost flawless. The sole complaint was its failure to score. Still, numerous positive aspects were present.
It took 20 shots to get one but Jaden Schwartz finally nails the back of the net from the slot and gets his first as and Avalanche! Fedor Svechkov (1), Brent Burns (2) on the assists #Avs #GoAvsGo https://t.co/r6iXcLzGyy

Both goals came from depth in the lineup. Jaden Schwartz and Fedor Svechkov both tallied their first goals in an Avalanche sweater. Both forwards are on the third line for the Avs and could make a tremendous impact all season long.

Colorado needs to take away the front of the net from the opposition. Two out of three goals for the Jets were off redirects because the defense couldn’t clear the crease. If they can clear the crease, they can give the eyes back to the goalie and allow him to see the puck as it comes towards the goal. Both goals were not Mackenzie Blackwood’s fault; he just needs help in front of his crease.
